Pilgrimage to Clonmacnoise by the Maynooth Seminary Community

The National Vocations Office of the Irish Episcopal Conference  sponsored a pilgrimage to Clonmacnoise Monastic Site on Sunday 14th April, 2024 for the seminarians and formation staff of St. Patrick’s Seminary in Maynooth. Despite the at times inclement weather, the Seminary Community greatly enjoyed the experience of visiting this important site, which was founded by St Ciarán and stood as a seat of learning and evangelisation for 1005 years.

Bishop Phonsie Cullinan of Waterford and Lismore who is Chair of the Council for Vocations  led the pilgrimage. During the visit, which took place as part of the Year of Vocation to the Diocesan Priesthood, there was a period of prayer  for an increase in vocations to the Diocesan Priesthood in Ireland and that many men will be encouraged to Take the Risk for Christ and discern a priestly vocation in order to serve the mission of the new evangelisation in our land.
