Resources for Week of Prayer for Vocations – Courtesy of Derry Diocese

Vocations 2021 – 17th to 25th April

Derry Diocese have produced resources for a week of prayer from Saturday 17th April up to Sunday 25th April Good Shepherd Sunday (Vocations Sunday).  The Vocations Team in Derry have kindly provided these to us with permission to share.  These could be used by groups (perhaps over Zoom) or by parishioners individually.

The theme for this year’s Vocations Week of Prayer is based on “Patris Corde” (‘With a Father’s Heart.’), Pope Francis’ recent publication for the year of Saint Joseph. Included are a series of daily reflections based on the themes, which Pope Francis highlights in his document.

The programme includes daily introductions and Prayers of the Faithful for daily Mass, as well as devotional reflections based on the Angelus, Daily Examen and the Mysteries of the Rosary.

Daily Liturgy and Prayers

Through the nine-day festival of prayer, parishes are encouraged to participate in the schedule of daily prayer. Each daily resource is listed below and includes:

  • Gospel reading;
  • Vocation prayer of the day;
  • Daily reflection; and
  • An introduction for daily Mass.
